I have a cable modem (linksys) connected to a wireless
router and access point (also linksys - 11B). My PC (XP
Pro) accesses the internet through the router via an
ethernet cable (i.e. wired). My laptop (also XP Pro)
accesses the internet through the router via a wireless
adapter (PCIM1A slot. This works great for internet
access on both computers, now I would like to network teh
computers so I can share files and use the printer
connected to the PC. However, in all the info I can find
on setting up wireless networking this configuration
doesn't seem to be discussed. I don't think
it's "Infrastructure" since there is no
existing "server." First tell me if I can do what I want
and then give me some help on how to do it. From what
I've seen, I think I might have problems sharing files
since both computers access the internet independently
through the router and need to have their firewalls on.
Will using IXP protocols help?
