Hello everyone :)

I want to get the 2408WFP, where would be the cheapest place in the UK? The cheapest price I found was on Ebay for £380 includ P&P. Americans are so lucky, I wish I could teleport there, buy the monitor and come back to London! :'(

I recently bought a HD 4850 and was in shock when I tested a few games in full specs on my ViewSonic 17" :) To get the full benefits of the 2408WFP, would the graphics be better in CrossFire? I've heard that games which don't support crossfire won't work, that's if I read right. :)

I've been reading all the threads and everyone recommends the 2408WFP, I think the 2709F is a waste of cash as the 2408WFP is already a big price, can't spend another £100 just to get something which would be as good as the 2408WFP.

Actually I have one more question regarding the inputs. Would I be able to connect my PS2 to the monitor using the white, red and yellow phono type connecti :sol: ons

This has been posted on Dell Community forums:

"I have news, as of yesterday all 2408's shipping as refurbished have the new firmware, as of Monday new monitors started coming off the production line with it.
If you are ordering a new monitor you should wait about two weeks to make sure that they have a chance to get through the distribution network.
If you order a new one tomorrow and it does not have it please don't complain about it, cause I will just refer you to this post"

Maybe I should wait for a little over 2 weeks and buy it from Dell. :/ Damn the price!

You should be able to hook your PS2 right up - the large variety of inputs is one of the 2408's benefits.

It's going to be a week or two, maybe a bit more till I can get the money for this monitor. Would it be better to get a 2709W instead of the 2408WFP? Read something about 27" 1920x1200 resolution being stretched instead of having a 27" resolution.

Well, it is the same native resolution as a 24". I wouldn't describe that as stretched, though the pixels will be larger. I would only get the 27" if you care more about screen size than resolution, otherwise the 24" will be fine.

Hi, you should buy it from www.pcbuyit.co.uk , they are alot cheaper than dell, their price is £325.00 Ex Vat, £381.88 inc vat , Dell are showing £422.12 inc vat - grab yourself a bargin :-)
