My HP Pavilion dv5000 needs a larger hard drive. I am ready to install the new 500GB 7200RPM Seagate but need some answers 1st:
I have Acronis Migrate Easy and EZ GIG II software but haven’t used either. Any input as to which is more user friendly?
Biggest problem is the original hard drive has a 2nd partition, 14GB, that contains HP’s Recovery software. I do not want this on the new drive. No need to waste that space because I have the actual HP disks.
I am hoping either of the programs I have can clone the 1st partition and not the 2nd. Or, if there is no way to ditch the 2nd completely on the new drive, then I want to make certain this partition is still only 14GB. I certainly don’t want a proportional copy.
Any help is much appreciated.
