I am looking to pickup a netbook (maybe an old laptop) for school. I have a PC for all my gaming, but all that gaming isn`t working out with me getting things done.... so I am hoping to pick up a very barebones netbook. I think I read they are going to cram a dual processor into a netbook... which will drive the price down. My needs are very simple: PDFs, OpenOffice, mild browsing on the net. If anyone has a direct experience or just thoughts... let me know.

Netbooks have more or less the same specs. Options are pretty much to do with battery size and two different atom cpus that are essentially the same. Pretty much any netbook will do it.
I suggest something with a 6-cell battery and make sure it has a decent keyboard (probably want 92% of full size kb). Asus eee 1005ha is new and cheap 10 incher (around 330 with 6-cell i think). I wouldn't go smaller than that, but that's up to you i guess.
