I am looking to buy an optical cable to connect a Xonar D2X to a logi Z-5500. Looking on Amazon there seems to be quite a price difference, from the unknown name brands for ~£4 through to the likes of Sony at £30 and upwards.
Is there likely to be any noticable difference between the cheap and expensive cables, or is it more a case of improved quality control.

Opinions appreciated.

The build quality differs greatly, but the actual sound quality will be unchanged unless you are running a very long cable.

Will only be a short run 1 -1.5m, and it will be behind everything so durability shouldn't be an issue.
If the sound quaility wont be affected, I think I'll go for the cheaper one.
Thanks.
