My ancient HP Deskjet 722c, has a fraying carriage belt that will cost over $30 to replace. I think it is time for a new printer.

I have been looking at the Lexmark X4550 and the Canon MP520. Both have good reviews on Newegg, but Consumer reports seems to indicate Lexmark is a much weaker brand than Canon. Which of these should I get?

If you're looking to use it wirelessly, Lexmark is the leader there. If you want slightly better print quality, go with the Canon.
