Hey everyone -

So here's my issue - i have two users - one of them has the MFP 1815 attached (via USB) to their local machine, and then shared out so that the other person can use it.

The problem is that everytime either of them sends a print job - Dell's HUGE print job notification window pops up from the system tray on the machine where the Printer is attached. It also makes reference to the Toner level. It is quite annoying, and quite honestly, takes up a considerable amount of screen space when it appears.

Is there anyway to get rid of this - like disabling it permanently?

Like i've seen in other posts on other forums, everyone says to go into the Server/advanced properties in Printers and Faxes and uncheck one or more options about informational notifications for local/network printers. I've done that to no avail. I've also gone into the registry and verified the 3 most common areas where you can also set DWORD values from 1 to 0 in reference to EnableBalloonNotification keys. Still a no-go.

This is very frustrating that Dell does not incorporate an easily accessed link that would allow this option to be disabled - unlike HP balloon notifications - they have a link embedded right on the balloon window itself to disable that from ever occurring again.

thanks for letting me vent. Any help is greatly appreciated.

kindly,

nick
