text to speech

I just reinstalled XP and text to speech doesn't seem to be working for
Excel. I go to view/toolbars, and I can make sure the toolbar shows, but it
is shaded out. I go to Tools and there is no 'speech' option to customize
it. What have I done wrong? I haven't had this problem with any other
computer - it usually starts right up.

Thanks

Perhaps looking in Control Panel, Speech will reveal the problem.

I've tried going into speech, and the speech works fine. For whatever
reason, it just doesn't work in Excel

Then you may want to ask in the Office or Excel group. Mention version
too. Seems odd tho!

In Excel 2003, try going to Tools, Speech and selection Speech.

If your unknown version of Excel does not support speech reorganization, you
may need a third party application.
