I need to restrict the hours my daughter is allowed to log onto her computer.
I have just installed XP on it and I need to know if there is any way of
doing it.

I guess what I really need is a way to force her to logoff at a certain time.
She tends to stay up very late on her computer and I need to put a stop to
that without having to move the computer into another room.

Not natively, no. Perhaps there is a third party program that would
allow this.

What's going on with kids these days? If my mom/dad told me to stop
doing something and move on, I did. I didn't question it and
certainly didn't argue.

If you have a router use that. Most routers have a configuration to restrict
internet access at certain times.
