Compaq LCD Monitor wont turn on anymore?? please help..

Hi,

I have a compaq 2025 monitor and it just wont turn on anymore, not even the LED lights up! I hardly use that computer, its probably turned on once every 2-3 weeks to print some files. I always switch the computer and monitor off at the wallsocket once they have both turned off (to save power). I noticed that a few times i switched them both on and the monitor wouldnt light up at all, so I had to switch it off for a few seconds, then switch it back on and it would light up. I tried that again and this time it just wont turn on, it wont light up at all. I know power is going into the monitor since if i put my ear very close to the monitor u can hear the transformer (i think thats where the noise comes from, its very faint), and when you switch it off at the wallsocket the sound goes. But the monitor will not turn on at all when i press the button!

does anyone know whats wrong? i hope its not stuffed
