xp welcome screen need the WITH Users id's

xp sp2 - I have the logoff option on the start botton, switch user and/or
logoff option on the logoff screen.

But if you use the logoff OR switch user option it takes me to the classic
windows logon screen, ie user/password input.

I want the new xp screen showing all user on system with there icons.

Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users log on or off > Check
"Use the Welcome Screen"

thanks, but that was the first thing I did.
The option on that screen already has a high-lighted botton showing the
optino is selected.
I also looked at the regedit key for the optin ans it is '1' true.
