filename to search in dos mode

Trying to get the name of the file that searches windows xp for bad files are
missing files, and can replace them using the cd. please help. i have done it
once before but cannot find the paper i wrote it on. thx

sfc /scannow

You might also describe your problem. I personally do not use this command
because it is not a targeted fix.
