I bought this TV to use with my PC. I wanted to use it for gaming. I have an ATI X800XT video card in my PC. I went to Sears to buy a Digital cable for the TV. When I plug the cbale up to the TV the picture looked terrible. I got the Owner's manual and began to read about the TV. What I found out is you can not use this TV with a PC using the Digtal cable. You can only use the analog cable. I think this really sucks. I would think about this one before buying this TV.

TV{NTSC or PAL} isn't good for PC gaming. The resolution is too
low compared to a computer monitor.

You might want to try SVHS.

Ummm S-VHS resolution is less that standard definition broadcast TV. The S-VHS standard calls for 400 horizontal lines resolution - broadcast NTSC and PAL-M is 525/480, standard PAL and SECAM is 625/576. Early S-VHS recorders were actually only 380 lines, the most recent ones are 420 lines. Lower than any broadcast TV standard in use anywhere in the world today.

The thing to remember about an LCD TV is that it has only one native resolution - 1366 x 768 in the case of the Samsung. If you want a good looking picture you need to use the native resolution, otherwise you will be relying on hardware scaling inside the TV to resize the image to the native resolution of the panel. Run a 768 line resolution on your PC and the results will inevitably be better

You are correct, but he is using it for playing games. I should of said that S-VHS is better than composite. Good info though, thanks!

What model is your TV?

Actually you should have said "S-Video is better than composite". S-Video is not the same thing as S-VHS.

ATI's latest drivers (Catalyst 5.4) support HDTV resolutions and have a TV settings wizard. If you connect a DVI cable from the PC to the TV, setting the exact correct settings for your TV should do the trick:
1. Although the 1080i standard is 1080x1920, it's interlaced, and computer video is progressive, so a resolution of 1920x1080 might not work perfectly
2. Most HDTV's also support 720p resolution, which is the same progressive image as a computer's 1280x720 setting.
3. I didn't look up your TV, so maybe it's not HDTV...
