My laptop has had an unfortunate incident recently and now the screen is broken. I've never replaced a laptop screen before and I'd like a little help.

The computer is a Dell D600 Latitude and the LCD screen is a 14.1" XGA, 20 pin. Can I buy any 14.1" XGA, 20 pin and expect it to work, or are there other compatibility issues I need to be aware of?

I would only buy a screen that was made for a notebook of the same model as yours. The number of pins may be the same for many screens, but the function of the pins different. Notebook screens do not have any interface standard.

Replacing your screen is easy enough. It will generally cost less than $300. For help on the repair, look here:
