Wrong Format to Ps3??

Hello guys!


First of all i want to say im new on this site. i find it very interesting! I'm not very good at english but i will give it a try.

This is my problem:

I recently bought a extern disc on 500GB. When i came home and connected it to my PS3 it dosent recognize it. My first idea was that i have to format the disc before use. I test it with NTFS and FAT32 and none of them works.

Do u guys know any other format that's maybe are uniqe for the PS3?? Or is it wrong with my disc?

EDIT: I have came forward in my progres.. the "format" is in NTFS... i must "force" it to use FAT32.. any1 having an idea of a program that can help me?

So what is the problem exactly, cause I dont under stand the.... and broken english in your edit. Have you also tried making a partition on the external drive, that may help the PS3 with the recognition. I have a PS3 as well, may I recommend if you want more space, and faster data transfer speeds, just upgrade the internal 2.5" drive. Doesn't break warranty.
