I am using Asus A7V8X-X motherboard with 1 Apacer CL2 DDR333 512MB, and AMD Athlon 2600+.

I have just bought an Apacer ram with CL2.5, DDR333, 512MB. Can I combine the two rams together where the CL timing is different? From my bios, I let the timing set by SPD (auto) where I see this ratio, 2.5-6-6-7. Can I set it to other ratio so to boost further performance if the above combination of cl timing is allowed? If yes, in what ratio?

When I read through the user manual of the motherboard, it stated that for PC2700 maximum to 4 banks only, and PC3200 maximum to 2 banks only. Here, is 2 banks = 1 piece ram, and 4 banks = 2 pieces ram? If so, can I put the combination of ram this way, (1 PC3200 + 1 PC2700), or (1 PC3200 + 2 PC2700)?

You can use the cl2.5 ram, but then all your ram will run at 2.5. There's no way that I know of to run them at different settings, i.e. DIMM 1 at 2.0 and DIMM 2 at 2.5. However, its possible that your cl2.5 ram will still run stable at 2.0, but you'll have to set the timings manually and run some tests for stability.

Banks usually equal the # of sides of chips. Some DIMMs are single-bank (chips only on 1 side of the DIMM) and some are double-bank (chips on both sides). The rating of the DIMM doesn't set the # of banks allowed, it's the speed they are running at that sets the limit. Since all memory runs at the speed of the slowest chip, if you have it set to run at 333, then you can have 4 banks, even if you are using all PC3200 RAM.
