I currently use SoundMAX on board audio on this MOBO.

I also use this headset.

The problem is that even with everything completely maxed in both the games I'm playing and in the microphone properties, I'm still way too quiet and people say they can barely hear me. When using Ventrilo, everything is fine because I can boost it enough in vent setup, but in games like TF2 and L4D I'm quiet as hell.

Would getting an actual sound card solve my problem? Or is it the headset? Can anyone recommend a new sound card or headset?

I was thinking this headset would work nice.

My sound quality right now is fine, but this mic issue is becomming a big problem.

Thanks

You probobly using a condenser mic.

Under microphone properties check the box that said boost or slide boost up to increase sensitivity.

Another is to check your headset if the mic switch is turned on.
