Hi there!

Im looking for a new laptop, i already bought a XPS 1640 for $1.300
Specs:
core 2 duo 2.4ghx 3mb cache
4gb ram ddr3
500gb hd 7200rev
Ati radeon 1gb ddr3
1088p display. 15.6
Webcam and stuff.

BUT! I cancel my order coz dell change my delivery date!! (was in order processing for 1 week)

So, i need a laptop better or near that dell specs
-my budget is $1.000 to $1.500

-I need it for using photoshop, flash, 3dmax, and play some games.

-Also, 15.6 screen
buy it in a store, no more internet deals for me! ._____.

-Storage space 320gb or more 7200rev

-With a dvd burner!

-im already searching, but everything is 17°... i will take it to travel too.

But they have ddr2 memory. The dell was ddr3, is that a huge difference?

Both look like they would work fine, I would opt for the 2nd one - Cheaper and you can use the left over cash for any upgrades.

ie a Fast SSD (intel better but over priced right know, Patriot Torqx or OCZ vortex 128 gig is lower cost per gigs - (DO NOT get vortex M28 version SAMSUNG Controler). I bought the 128 gig Torqx for Approx $320. If it has 2nd HDD bay, then use SSD for Operating system plus programs and Mechanical HDD for your files. Mine did not have 2nd bay so I conned the HDD via esata port when needed.

SATA internal Blu-ray ROM/DVD writer - Stateside approx $200 Way overpriced as Pata verion is only $100. Ordered mine from Taiwan for $100 free shipping and they sent via airmail, had within two weeks. Need to look at how hard it is to replace ODD - Mine was simple.

If your on the road much and with out AC - might want a 9 cell Battery, not cheap, as battery life is going to be short. This is true for any high end laptop with 6 cell battery.

Upgrade to Win 7
