Is it possible to connect speakers to a 'line in jack'or'line out jack'? If so how do you do it? Do you need stereo mini plugs?

Small speakers yes but it won't be loud, it's like listening on headphone crank up on top of the table.

Line out is only meant for low voltage unit headphones or low input units like AMP. Therefore you'll need an amplifier or booster to hook up bigger speaker/s.
