I have the mobo that I described in the title and I installed a HDD in the 3rd IDE and that IDE is to be used in RAID configuration.

I want to use the HDD just as a storage disk, when I did the format for this disk, windows did it differently than the HDDs that are on the other IDEs.

My question is: If I put this hard disk in another computer is it going to work.

I think that It designated the HDD as a volume instead of a partition and it said dynamic instead of basic.

If you have read the RAID faq, you now know that RAID need at least 2 HDD to be actually called RAID...

If you havent read the RAID FAQ, then I suggest to do now

Only if the OS on the new computer supports dynamic drives which means NT, 2K, XP.

Even if it doesn't have a raid option?

Anyone knows the difference between the dynamic and regular drives?

What I ended up doing was to connect the new drive to a regular IDE and then format it. Then I hooked that drive to the RAID IDE and it works but it shows it as a regular Basic Drive instead of a Dynamic Drive.
