Hi, I'm buying a new laptop in a couple months when I have the cash, and I understand this might be outdated in 3 months.

_What is your budget? $800-1400 US.

_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 13-17", not a big deal.

_What screen resolution do you want? Doesn't really matter, Anythings better than the 1280x800 13.3" I have.

_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portable, usually around a power outlet though.

_How much battery life do you need? 2-3 Hours would be very nice.

_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? The usual games always benchmarked etc. High preferable, but at my price range I know that's probably not going to happen.

_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.) Watching movies, music, maybe some photo editing, surfing the web, things you do with a laptop.

_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need? 320-640gb seems like a good range for a laptop, I also have a 400gb external.

_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them.

_How long do you want to keep your laptop? Preferably 4 years, till I get out of college.

_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them. ... I just would like it to be a nice laptop that's going to play games at decent settings and not make me want to run back to my i7 desktop as soon as i see the game load.

_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. I'm good with any brand that's good a good rep to it.

_What country do you live in? USA

I know this one is right at the edge of your range, but it will offer excellent performance for the price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6834220576
