Hi,

I have been playing some Call of Duty : United Offensive and i have been getting some noticeable slowdown during intense battle scene's when enabling EAX or even worse with EAX 3.

I play in 1280x1024,x4 AA + x8 AF

According to this guy on guru3d.com i shouldnt be gettin noticeable slowdown with an Audigy 2 sound card?

Something about IRQ conflicts?

I thought that would just cos sound pop's/crackels, not peformance reductions

[It does seem a bit pointless having an audigy 2 and not using high quality sound]

I do notice a slight performance difference when going from plain surround to EAX4 in everquestII. I never notice it in COD though, even w/ my old pentium system. I run it at 1280x1024 4xaa, 8xaf w/ eax3 on my athlon64 machine and it never lags.
Full comp specs can be found if you click my little sig link.

If I was to blame anything I would blame dell mobo.

Just out of curiosity, could u please

Navigate to start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information. in the Left Pan there is a "+" next to hardware resources > Click on IRQ's

Just to see if your sound card is sharing an irq
