Hi,

I've got a graphics card with HDMI output that takes S/PDIF input that it passes on through the HDMI connection. Unfortunately, my motherboard doesn't have S/PDIF output. I'd like to get a PCI sound card that supports raw passthrough of audio via S/PDIF to get around this issue. I need to be able to connect a 2-pin S/PDIF wire to the sound card. Can anyone recommend sound cards (preferably available on Newegg) that would be able to accomplish this on a Linux system?

I'm looking at the following:
PPA 1417v
PPA 1431v
Turtle Beach RIVIERA - leaning towards this one
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE

I'd like to get the cheapest one that will get the job done. Some of the following don't appear to have the 2-pin connector on them; is that normal for some cards supporting S/PDIF output?

Thanks!
