I need to make a cable with a single 1/8" audio patch panel connector on one end and a female XLR connector on the other end. The patch cable has red, white, blue, & black wires inside with silver shielding. How do I connect these to the XLR?

Red and blue to pin 2; white and black to pin3; silver to pin 1.

Follow this orientations:

Balanced connections (Stereo) - Tip goes to pin 3, Ring to pin 2, and Sleeve to pin 1 and for Unbalanced connection (Mono) - Ring have no connection so don't use pin 2. So in your case do not use red and blue.
