Hey guys I'm considering buying a monitor and I need some advice. There's a lack of reviews on the net regarding monitors and I need some help to get the best monitor for the price.

My choices are (note: all prices are after tax)
1) Samsung 2053BW @ ~ $200 CAD
2) LG W2242TQ-BF @ ~ $238.14 CAD
3) Acer X223WBD @ ~ 197.3475 CAD
4) Samsung Syncmaster 2253BW ~ $ 219.45 CAD
5) LG L226WTY-BF@ ~ $266.49 CAD
6) Anything else that you guys might suggest in the price range of $200 - $270 (Canadian tax included)

Here's what I'm looking at to judge performance:
- Any backlight bleeding?
- Contrast ratio good?
- Design (is it slim or does stick out like a turtle's shell from the back?)
- Placement of control keys
- Is it egronomic? (can I tilt it?)
- Price/performance

anyone willing to help me out here???

I've also got the option of

Dell Ultrasharp 2009W LCD Monitor. Now I've heard nice things about the "ultrasharp" series but I wanted to know if 5 ms is good enough for gaming since I can't really find the response time for GTG.

I'd like to know as well. I'm getting the Samsung 2053BW @ 187.85 (directcanada.ca). The ratio is 2500:1, is this good for gaming ? I have seriously no idea, some are 1000:1 and others 8000:1.
What should i look for first for a 22 " LCD monitor on a gaming Rig? I got a HD4850, so I'd like a not too crappy screen to go with it.

Inexpensive of course !

I would like to know as well! This certainly is the thread to talk about 20" and 22" LCD monitors, huh? :D

Also, another Canadian so that's good for discussing Canadian choices or availability.

Anyway, I have a few other monitors to suggest:

* LG W2052TQ

* Acer P201WD

* HP W2007 (might be over your budget)

* Acer X213WBD

I was hoping someone could comment on the ones I listed and recommend.

Do you mind telling us which city it is in? Also does $250 include all the taxes?

I've decided to buy Samsung T220 for about $282.42 (tax and shipping included) from DirectCanada and this monitor overall has been stunning! the only draw back I have is with the toucch power on button. It's not the most sensitive power on button out there so sometimes you have to touch it a few times to get it working =/ Otherwise this monitor is super! The stand didn't wobble a lot for me so it was ok. I do hope that they could make a more sturdier stand though.
