Everything works fine on my HP 1018 LaserJet which uses a Q2612A toner cartridge, but upon buying a new cartrisdge and replacing the old one, I now get a paper jam. Basically, the paper doesn't come up properly, get stuck half way, around the place where it touches the catridge. I did shake the new cartridge a little, and have pulled out the plastic strip.
I've checked it three times now, making doubly sure the cartridges is in place: but each time the old cartridge lets the paper come up and the new one causes it to jam.
So, as the old cartridge works fine, it's clearly a problem with imprecision in the casing of the new cartridge. It is the right model, I have verified, and visually they look exactly the same, although I notice some very small variations on the new cartridge, which shouldn't make a difference really,
I have never ever had this problem, especially with HP.
I am not in love with sending it back, which is a bit of pain. Have other people ever come across this problem of imprecise cartridge casings from HP? Outside of sending it back, what other solutions are there?
