Take a game assassins creed. Its available for ps3, xbox 360 and pc. Ps3 costs about 19000 and xbox abt 15000. Assassins creed runs finely on both these platforms. But if want a pc that can run it , it costs about rs 45000+, and even then it may not run ac as fine as on the consoles. So why are the consoles so cheap when compared to pcs that can barely run the same games?

A console only does a few things, a PC does hundreds of things, a PC with the correct hardware can run the games, no problem. If you just want games, buy the console.

Because a game console is basically a single purpose device. A PC is a multiple purpose device. Flexibility can be expensive.

Like the man above said, if all you want to do is play games, get a console.
