Looking for a laptop in the $750.00 price range with a Centrino 2 Intel processor with at least a 16" screen and 4 gigs of RAM. Are there any out there with these stipulations?
Maziar, thanks for the info on the Asus laptop. I'm looking to play some FPS games like Bioshock, COD series, Halo, World of Warcraft, etc. Then, the wife will be watching a lot of movies, so I'm looking for some HD (720 P) detail. She is a history buff, so she uses a lot of online resources to research Greek and Roman origins and mythology to store, which means we'll need at least 320 gigs of hard drive space. If we miss a show on TV, we also go to the web and watch past episodes. We take a lot of pictures with an 8mp digital Camera for download and printout. I have a few spreadsheets that I will keep going on the proposed laptop. Also, I've noticed that for memory upgrades to DDR3, you need a processor with a FSB of 1066, so that is a must. Cache need is 3MB, so I think that pretty much eliminates the 'T' series processors. Battery life, hopefully, will be in the 4 to 5 hour range. I'll probably need at least a two year accidental coverage plan, due to the cats knocking things all over the place. Maybe 3 years would be better. The coverage plan would bump my budget into the $1000. to $1100. range. That would be my ceiling for all the above. Hope this guides everyone to a few good laptops for my consideration.
So isn't that notebook good for u ? also do u insist on having a DDR3 RAM ? its hard to find DDR3 RAMs in that price range + the difference between DDR2 and DDR3 isn't much
