Ergotron LX LCD arm mount

I'm thinking about getting one and trying to attach it to an Airdesk I have: http://www.airdesks.com

I'm thinking I might have to do some modifications and attach the LX sideways to the pole with the clamp, unless I could somehow slide it onto the airdesk pole, but I'm not sure if that will work. I was thinking about attaching the LX to the shelf on the desk, but it may be too thin for the clamp. I'm also curious to know if it will work if I attach it sideways. there is a 90 degree rotation, but it's going to have to rotate the right way.
