Hello all, my first post here.
Here is my delima.
I've been doing alot of multi media things on my PC lately. Internet radio, watching DVD's, ripping, burning, and downloading(legal like and all) alot of music.
I'm thinking of converting over to a media center PC. Or preferably changing what I have around a bit. First I'd just like to get the audio over to the $20,000 stereo system. Wired or wireless I dont care. I'd been looking at the M-audio Revolution 7.1 cards along with the, M-audio Audiophile card. Then I thought that for some (well about $150) more I could get a Squeezebox2, or Roku Soundbridge, and have control of the playlists from the livingroom as well. But still no video. Are there any good solutions for what I'm looking for?
I need audiophile quality, dont mind too much an internal sound card (both the M-audio's are about $100). Must have Digital Coax out though, dont want to shatter a bunch of expensive optical cables running it through the walls.
So, step by step and wait for technology to catch up?
Or is there an all in one reliable easy to hookup and use solution out there for me.
Just rereading what I typed I think maybe I should splurge on the Squeezebox or the Roku. Give me some advice or personal expierence.
Thanks,
Stewrt

There are lots of reliable cards out there for recording. M-Audio has some solutions, as does RME and Lynx. The price is up there too, and these cards don't have any effects processing making them useless for games.
