Can anyone recommend a good 27inch LCD monitor for gaming? I've been using a 24 inch Dell Ultrasharp for about three years now and have been happy with it. I was looking at the Dell 27 inch Ultasharp displays but the .303 dot pitch on these doesn't look all that good. Is there a good 27 inch display out there or do I need to skip up to 30 inches? Thanks.

All of the 27's that I know of have the same 1920x1200 resolution as your 24" ultrasharp (an excellent monitor btw - not sure why you're in the market for a new one). To get a higher resolution and a smaller dot pitch, you need to go to 30". Of the 30 inchers, I've heard excellent things about the Dell Ultrasharps, both the 3007 and 3008 models.

I'm in the same boat. I've got some cash set aside and am ready to purchase, but CANNOT find a dell store where they've actually got the 27 and 30s up for display. If I'm going to be buying an 800$+ monitor I need to see it first.

27-28 Is what I'm in the market for as well. I'm moving up from a 22 so I'd really like to go more than 2 inches, but 1k is out of my range...

hmmm very interesting. Price looks right. I didn't see it on their website but does it have a DTV tuner or any way of hooking cable or a console up to it?

It has:
VGA
DVI (HDCP)
HDMI
Four USB

I have mine hooked up to the DVI port on my HTPC.

This link should work, but it is listed on there site under LCds:

It is listed under their "Bussiness" LCD's and the max resolution is a ...different 2048x1152....I dont know if this would be an issue or not. Why is it listed as a "bussiness" LCD ?
