New built, not booting

Hi guys i have finaly bought my pc i built it with no OS, cause my friend give mě pirated OS windows7 64bit ultimate on DVD cd so i put it in and it shows mě this error : reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key...

Ok i rally need help its my brand new pc and i dont have money to buy windows7 friends told that pirated will be ok and working.
And they tried also.

The cd have 4gb... Its just burned

Pls help thx.

in the bios you have to set the first boot device to cd-rom then hard drive..if the disk is burnt good and is a full version of windows you get a message hit any key to boot from cd. make sure on the cd is windows and not office. if you need to windows 8 is still free to download and use.

You don't happen to be a student do you? Microsoft gives free copys of windows 8 to college students

Windows 8 RTM is for testing right now, and it expires in October, I think. It is free to test for like a total of 90 days, then it expires...

it will expire around jan 2013. it is for testing the full version of windows 8 should be dropping end of oct. as it free and a legal copy of an os it should work fine unless you have a issue with your system.

That one is not the RTM (release to manufacturing version) version though, but yeah it will work until like January. The RTM is good for only 80 or 90 days from when it first came out.
