Having trouble with audio CD's. CD's shorter than about 40 miutes are OK. With longer CD's, everything is apparently OK with the writing (I am using Windows Media Player 11.0.6001.7007). On playback, around the 40 minute point, there will be increasing amounts of distortion, then the CD will just not play. What should I blame first?

Are you using decent branded media ?

Try one of the free independent CD writing prog downloads -- Koyotesoft's CD Easy and Ashampoo Lite work for me.

Believe it or not I had the same problem with a T6412 a couple of years ago.
Disconnect from the internet
then try to burn the CD again.

Somehow being connected to the internet was interrupting my burn.
Why? I'm not sure.
