ECC is for error correcting. It's purpose is to increase data integrity.

Not a good thing for gamers, but it's useful for accounting systems.

ECC will add some latency to your memory system.

BG scrubbing?
I'm guessing this is a tool used to aid in the cleaning/removal of computer bugs.
Any other ideas?

BG scrubbing will not hurt your system so I would enable it and if you get any slow downs or anything out of the ordinary then turn it off. If you are running a dual CPU system and you have ECC memory BG scrubbing is not required so play around with that setting to see what works best.

ECC Memory Scrubbing When the memory
controller enables scrubbing, memory is scanned periodically to check and correct hardware errors. Therefore, special care needs to be taken in order to avoid undesired ECC faults introduced by memory scrubbing.

Might want to just leave it off.

Thank you much.....I thought it was something good to have. I'll shut that off asap. lol. I had no idea. The Back ground scrubbing is still a mystery.

I have both settings on.....with no slow downs, but I will shut off the ECC. I wasn't aware of it's functionality due to poor description anywhere I go...Thank you so much!
