I hope I made that thread sound urgent enough. I really need some assistance sorting out priorities on choosing a new monitor. Here is an observation I am noticing: You cant get a well priced monitor with a good Contrast Ratio AND Response Time. Another observation: No one ever lists their Pixel Pitch!!!
I am a gamer who does a lot of graphic design on my computer. I want a monitor that will fit my budget (300-400), wont ghost my games or lag my game graphics, and still be able to make sense of my digital imaging on an "up close and pixelated" basis. My secondary monitor is already purchased (yay black friday!) and its a 19" wide 5ms 1000:1 CR (not sure if thats dynamic or not... just another thing that never makes any sense). The monitor I am wanting to get will be probably 24" wide or 26" wide. If anyone has suggestions I am all ears.
I know there are other threads about monitors but a lot of the information is dated. I want a fresh perspective on monitors. A huge plus would be an HDMI port on the monitor, but its not necessary. I can always convert my 360's HDMI cord. Here are a few I am looking at.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] CatId=3774 I like this one although it has a 5ms response time. Pixel Pitch is .27 which isnt horrible, but I would love something closer to .25. I assume that wont happen in this price range. The huge plus to this is the good contrast ratio, 20,000:1 dynamic.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] CatId=3774 This one worries me because of the high Pixel Pitch. Also, the video states its a 3000:1 standard contrast ratio but the specs show it as 3000:1 dynamic... big difference there so that worries me.
I guess I just need help prioritizing features. Am I going to notice the Contrast Ratio difference more or the refresh rate more? Help me please!
