well i think i might have made it more complicated after looking i found this
"AFLASH2 Utility BIOS Flash Utility for DOS Version V3.03 ASUS G53JW Driver Windows 7 (x64-64 bit)"
HELP what to do ??????????am lost

Andrew, just go to the base url, ie. http://support.asus.com/ and select the "download" option on the left-side of the screen and let it detect your model automatically.

I did'n't see any Windows 7 drivers for your system though, so you'll probably have to try the Windows Vista drivers, chipset drivers.

The bios update won't add back the usb drivers.

Asus don't appear to provide Win 7 drivers, Vista drivers here

Try the Chipset drivers, if you have trouble with installation, Rt click the setup.exe file and choose 'Troubleshoot compatibility'

Edit - that link is for 32bit drivers, 64bit
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&m=F3T&hashedid=bAQrnPI8LidXQd5S
as you will see, no Chipset driver for 64bit, so you are probably limited to 32bit, no great prob as your mobo will only support 4gig RAM...
