Microphone driver for windows 7

I just purchased an HP Compaq 7700. Everything works great but I can't get the Microphone to work. What am I doing wrong. Thank You. Lynzena@gmail.com

You don't need a driver as it is included with the sound card driver. Are you sure that you are putting the microphone in the correct socket? How are you testing that the microphone is working? Ensure that the microphone is enabled and the sensitivity is set to high in the volume mixer.
