I'm confused.
On page 37 (2-11) of the <A HREF="http://www.savefile.com/filehost/files3.php?fid=9639767" target="_new"> manual</A> it says
Quote :
Due to CPU limitation, DIMM modules with 128 Mb memory chips or double-sided x16 memory chips are not supported in this motherboard.
So according to that memory with 128mb chips isn't supported BUT when I select the ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE on the <A HREF="http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.asp?model=A8N-SLI+Deluxe&tabid=AM" target="_new">Crucial Memory Advisor™ tool</A> some of the memory it suggests is 128Meg x 64 including some of the <A HREF="http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.asp?model=A8N-SLI+Deluxe&tabid=PM" target="_new">Performance Memory</A> it suggests.
So who is wrong?
(1) ASUS
(2) Crucial
(3) Me

DIMMS have 4, 8 or 16 (or 32 in rare cases) chips on them. Its the specific CHIP on the DIMM that the manual is talking about. The ones with 128MegaBIT (abbreviated with a lower-case b) chips are the ones that ASUS doesn't like. The 128MegaBYTE (abbreviated with a capitol B) approved DIMMs don't use the 128Mb chips.
