Best Color Laser for Graphics and Photos

Hello There.

I'm looking for a color laser printer that prints graphics and photos well. I have already heard that they cannot beat ink jets, yet I disagree somewhat. I have two canon inkjets and they print excellent graphics when I use Canon paper and ink. Furthermore I cannot print on them with a glossy laser type paper without the ink seeping through. On the other hand when I go over to Kinko’s with the same print job I am able to print on their laser printer with excellent results including double-sided without the ink seeping through. I have read that Kinko’s is using some kind of a Xerox laser printer.

Here are my priorities

1. High quality laser color printing similar to Kinko’s

2. Printer cost below $500

3. Low toner cost

Hello.

After all this time, I finally went with one: Dell 2130cn Color Laser Printer

I was able to get it for a DEAL in price plus the shipping was free. I think the tonor itself may have come close to the price that I paid.

I plan to use this as part of my graphic production for my CD Jewel cases given the quality of the output is up to par. So far I have only used it to print a variety of office prints. So far I have yet to really put the printer to test due to time contraints. All I can say for now is that it takes up plenty of space and it is an electrical HOG. I have it connected to a APC power backup and everytime I use the printer the APC tells the computer that it went into powerbackup mode.

So far, for the price I am happy with it, but the real DEAL will come if I can use it as part of my CD and music graphics production.
