What connection does the TV have? And the laptop? (VGA, DVI, HDMI, s-video?)

I am also having trouble with hooking up my mac book. my tv has only the yellow/red/black imputs. i don't know what i need

you cant, your lcd is analogue it doesnt have digital input such as vga or dvi or even better hdmi. check these out in the back of your TV

the blue one is for pc, also the hdmi ones for pc too.
