XP not listing all folders on firewire drive

I have an external firewire enclosure containing IDE drives. One of
the drives contains a few hundred folders. Until today everything has
been fine, but now I find that Windows Explorer only lists the first
folder on this drive, plus the files in the root folder.

If I disconnect the enclosure and connect it to another machine all
the folders are listed correctly, so I assume that the disk has not
become corrupted.

I'm running XP Pro SP2 on both machines. The only thing I can think of
which may have caused it is the connection of a DV camcorder to the
other firewire port on the first machine earlier today, but I don't
know why that should have caused a problem.

Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?
