i'm helping my mom speed up her eMachine (yeah i know they're not that great) and i'm looking to put 256mb of ram in it to speed it up, could somebody help me to what kind i should get for it?

click the memory tab.

Look at the type and memory speed.

It takes PC2100 memory for a maximum of 2GB of memory. It has 2 memory slots, if you are running Windows XP I would recommend getting a 512MB module.
