Hello from down under - Newby here just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on books that deal with generally fixing problems with your machine as in hardware or soft. Am constantly trying to get better at doing my own stuff and belong to a great site here in Oz - Whirlpool.com.au (which recommended Tom's) but always open to views from outside. Can get around the machine fairly well but find delving into things such as registries etc a little daunting and an easy to follow book would be most appreciated.

Currently, the internet is the best source for what you are looking for. Read more than one article/comment/suggestion in order to get a good feel of things.

No one single book, or multiple books for that matter, will provide you with all information. Besides, by the way things change, the books will be outdated the moment they are published.
