Hello!

I received a copy of Xp 64pro at the AMD/Microsoft tech tour a few days ago.
Completed building a new 64bit machine and in general, it really is
impressive. However, I've noticed to issues that I can not explain and was
wondering if someone had any insights.

1) After adding a secondary user, the PC would not boot past the welcome
screen. It would get to where it says "Welcome" and would go no further.
Ctrl-alt-del did nothing, the mouse worked but everything else gave no
response. I booted in safe mode and disabled the welcome screen and now it
works.

2) The runservices.exe*32 process consumes 99% of my processor power
whenever I allow it to run (it runs on boot up). If I enter the task manager
and kill the process, things go back to normal.

3) IE (32bit or 64bit) do not surf right away. The machine is fully booted
and I click on either version of the app, and it just sits there. Doesn't
give any kind of error, or 'page can not be displayed" message . . .just
takes about 2-3 minutes to get to the page. Once the first page is loaded,
all else is OK.

4) Also had some problems getting Deus X to run. . .it crashed in the middle
and I didn't bother to reload (was too tired!).

So, those are the challenges/problems I've run into. If anyone has any
advice on how to improve the performace of the OS in relation to these issues
I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!

Jon
