Creative labs vado camcorder

I purchased a vado camcorder by creative labs three months ago so I can't send it back. It charges and everything seems to be working fine until you press "take a video" button, then the screen goes black and all I can see is a picture of a small green battery. The battery is fully charged and the camera says it's ready to go, but it doesn't . Can any one help me figure of what's wrong, any one experience this with the vado?
