adding a extra 512mb?

hey was just wondering if adding another 512mb ddr ram to my system would have any performance benefits? or would it make my system run a bit better i already have 512mb installed

my system if u guys want to know
amd athlon 2000+
512mb ddr 400mhz declocked to 266mhz
elitegroup k7s5a mother board
64mb gforce 4 mx440

anyhelp would be much appricated

well i use my system for gaming and all sort of stuff burning and ecc but as u can c from my system spec it isn't really hard core stuff just want to c if adding a extra 512 would help my computer out cause i leave it on 24/7 and i often play games and downloaded at the same time

btw i play a lot of stragie games and build a lot of units would the extra ram help?

i wish i could :'(  but motherboard only supports a max of 1 gig

My system runs fine......never experienced that before. So I have no idea what your talking about.

1 gig is allsome nfsu not as much lag as b4 games runing a bit smother but has anyone got there windows requiring more than 1.5 gig for swap disk space? i mean page file?

i set mine to initial 500mb and maxium 1gig of hard disk swap space but still can't c y windows needs recommaned 1.5 gig

Set the pagefile to a static amount. Because Windows sometimes like to modify the size of the pagefile and if there is no adjacent space on the HD it will put it somewhere else causing fragmentation ultimately slowing your PC...If you have a second HD put it on the non windows HD it helps performance.
