Samsung 2253bw concerns

I just received a new 2253bw monitor. I have some concerns about it tho. I swapped it with a old 17" dell lcd 1280X1024. It seems like on some pictures, the color dark brown has a red tint to it. The color white also has a somewhat yellow tint to it. I have calibrated my monitor but i'm not able to get it 'perfect'. I mean should I have to reduce both the red and the yellow and up the gamma to get it to look normal? I am comparing it with my alienware m17 laptop and that monitor's colors looked identical to my 17" dell monitor, which was perfect for me. Anyway to fix this? Is it just me you guys think or should I return it and get another one?
