My mother gave me her 1960's magnavox high fidelity stereo; it's some piece of furniture, literally; however, although the stereo works, and when put on the phono for the turntable; unfortunately, the turntable does not turn. My mother doesn't believe in buying me something a little more current.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong; a fuse or I am missing something; the turntable simply won't turn when you turn it on or in the auto position.

Thanks...
Gregory

These old changers had lubrication on the moving parts which can become like glue when it hardens over years. You would have to get the underside of the turntable to check it out. Could be a bad motor which would probably not be available.

Could also be a belt drive, and the belt is bad
