1_What is your budget?
500-800 USD

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
I'd prefer one with a 15" screen or bigger.

3_What screen resolution do you want?
Any, it is not that important to me

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Desktop replacement.

5_How much battery life do you need?
Battery life isn't extremely important as I will have it plugged in most of the time.

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
I'd like to play games like Second Life. I know I do not need the best card out there to play SL, but I want the laptop to alst a few years.

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.)
Everything that was mentioned.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
Unimportant. I already have a portable HD since my desktop only has 60GB.

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them.
This is the laptop I am currently lookng at.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6834115592

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
3-4 years

11_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them.

I'd prefer a Core 2 Duo or comparable. I am looking for something that I will not have to worry about upgrading for a few years, but money is really tight, so I am looking for the best bang for my buck. I have been looking at dell's, but once you add a decent graphics card it jumps the price right up. I am open to suggestions of any kind! I have never owned an Acer and I am unsure of their products. I also saw an MSI but I have never heard of them so I did not know if it was worthwhile.

12_What country are you from?
USA

like the Toshiba Satellite L300-29R here for 449 euro ($667).
I hope I helped.

I decided to go with an HP DV6. The price was right and with the extended warranty it is under 1k.
