CAN I USE 15 VOLT DC ADAPTOR ON 12 VOLT DC APPLIANCE

Hello,
I run 2 x 12 volt DC fans (rated at 0.25 amps each. My original power adaptor (240 volt ac down to 12 volts dc, 1100 milliamps) has burned out. I have found another adaptor (240 volts ac down to 15 volt dc, 500 milliamps) - could I use this, or would it burn out the fans.

better use the proper voltage to avoid electrical failure

Don't because unless it's a regulated supply it will probably go over 15 volts -- and 15 is a high enough ratio over 12 to cause problems already.
